Yesterday around 4pm we got a call that all of our stuff (kitchen supplies, books, clothes, etc.) had arrived! We have been waiting for the past three months for this call, so we were more than excited, and eager to make our house a home.
You know those huge semi-truck containers you see barrelling down the highway? Ousor stuff was in one of those and it had come from NYC to the carribean. We had about 20 boxes in the container, but the rest of it was donated equipment and supplies for the churches we work with. One church is going to start a neighborhood cafeteria to both bring in income to the church and sell inexpensive meals to their under-resourced community... they received lots of items for their new project and it was fun to see the huge smiles on their faces.
The soccer ministry we have been working with received new uniforms, cleats, soccer balls, and socks. It was a big day for us as well! My heart started beating a little faster when I thought of the girls who come to practice in old penny loafers and skirts... they were new going to have t-shirts and some tennis shoes to wear.
It was a great day all around.
