Koinonia

We headed to San Fransisco de Marcoris last Friday for a special event called "Koinonia" which was held in David Phipps' church (in the center of the photo). Reminding me of a "field trip", about 50 pastors from all of the DR were there to observe what was going on at David's church, we had a devotional at the beginning but then spent the rest of the time hearing about what God is doing at his church. David's church is one of the churches in the DR doing "wholistic ministry" as they minister to the whole person... it was amazing as the church had a Christian radio station, a sewing school, a women's ministry that reaches out to the community is really cool ways. Of course, at the end, we had a big Dominican lunch with rice/beans (moro), chicken, potato salad and cabbage salad.
