Dear Friends and Family,
Hi, this is Mark writing. I just thought I'd give you a quick update about what is happening with us right now. Many of you may be wondering if Stephanie has already given birth. Not yet, but it could be any moment now. We're both excited and nervous with waiting, waiting, and more waiting.
Thankfully, while the baby has not yet arrived, the pregnancy is going quite well. The baby keeps moving around a lot, and Stephanie and I are going on a lot of long walks to try to get the process in motion. However, as much as he moves, and as much as we get out the door and hike through the streets of Louisiville, he seems to be quite comfortable where he is at. If he remains intent on sticking it out as long as he can, Stephanie is going to be induced during the early hours of Friday morning. So by this time next week, we'll be parents for sure!
Aside from regular visits to the OBGYN, Stephanie has also been making visits to an opthamologist. During the last 2-3 months she has had quite a bit of discomfort in here eyes, and so a week ago finally got to an eye doctor to take a look. Long story short, they discovered what they think is a bacterial infection in her corneas. Tommorrow we will get the results from the tests and know for sure. We obviously hope that this is not the case, but based on what the doctor said on Thursday, this is probably the situation. Most likely, the bacteria is from the water in the Dominican Republic. According to the doctor, the bacteria and the irritation it is causing is only superficial at this point, so that is good. Nonetheless, this kind of infection can be quite serious, and the healing process can take several months. Therefore, if you would, please be in prayer with us for the health of Stephanie's eyes. We trust that God is in control and he's got the situation in his hands, but we also know that he listens to our prayers. This is especially important as Stephanie is going to be a brand new mom, and she's going to need her eyes in good working order to take care of the little one.

Hi cousins! Mark, thanks for the update. I'm so excited for you, and looking forward to meeting the little guy, hopefully before too long. I'll be praying for all of you: Mom (and her eyes), Dad, and baby.
