Today, Mark/I split up to visit the two locations and deliver the goods. We are so grateful that we work with such awesome pastors who have truly reached out to their communities (and other communities as well) in times of need. This reaction has really been an example for me of how even in times of crisis, it is possible to place others in front of yourself.
Anyway, here are photos from today... we're heading to Bani together tomorrow, which apparently was harder hit. Thanks for your prayers... there are lots of families sleeping on wet mattresses tonight in the DR.
Arriving at the church and dropping off the items for distribution. The truck we drove to the left in the photo. There were over 300 people waiting, most of which had been there since noon and we arrived at 3pm.
Our pastor, Robert, praying with the many people who lost homes, beds, clothing, almost everything... before the distribution of the items.
Check out the house to the left that is hanging on the side of the riverbank. Hundreds of homes were affected and some fell directly into the river and were swept away.
One home that survived the flooding but the family is living at a nearby school since they lost everything inside their home to the storm.

Wow! Things are really rough in the DR! It feels selfish to say this, but we're glad that you live in an old building that was built like a bunker. We'll continue praying for you - that your strength will hold out to do the work for which you were called.

We've been praying for you! It was good to see the sun out in one of those pictures, but I'm sure the devasation of the rain is still everywhere. Thanks for the update, we'll continue praying and let us know again if we can help in any way.
I am so glad that you and Mark are there to serve your friends in this time of need. My prayer is that through the relief efforts people will see Christ clearly and unmistakably. Thanks for all of your hard work and devotion!!!
