Dominican Pastors Invade Downtown Chicago

Yes, that's right. Last Saturday, seven Dominican church leaders took over downtown Chicago... and we were with them. It was an amazing experience to see the city again with fresh eyes and understand how clean and safe so many of our US cities truly are. We were with Domingo, Fransisco, Geraldo, Ruth, BellaFlor, Rafaelito, Adolfo (we've been forming relationships with all but two of them during our time in the DR)... and we laughed and enjoyed each minute. After the past four months with them showing us around and taking care of us, it was awesome to be able to host them.

We stopped by the brand new outdoor ampitheater, only to find a South American sacred music performance. It was amazing and we all felt like it was a "God thing" that we were able to enjoy the beautiful orchestral world music in Spanish and meet other Latin Americans while we were there. It was wild! I met a Mexican and Columbian... and even talked to them a bit in Spanish. To be honest, it was an exciting moment for me to be able to use my Spanish in the United States and see some progress in my language acquisition.
